What is an in-text citation?
Answer
An in-text citation is a short reference within the body of your paper that helps identify an idea's original source. They are typically placed at the end of a sentence and have a corresponding reference at the end of your paper.
In-text citations provide additional information to support your argument, show that you have thoroughly researched your topic, and give credit to the original source of information.
The format of the in-text citation depends on which citation style you are using. Typically, it includes an author's last name and a date or page number.
