How do I cite multiple resources by the same author in MLA?

Answer

When citing multiple resources by the same author in your Works Cited page, give the author's name in the first entry only. For subsequent citations, type three em dashes or three hyphens.

Example:

Collins, Suzanne. Catching Fire. Scholastic Press, 2009.

———. The Hunger Games. Scholastic Press, 2008.

When citing multiple works by the same author in the body of your text, include the author's last name and a shortened version of the title.

Example:

(Collins, Hunger Games 23)

(Collins, Catching Fire 13)
