What's the difference between paraphrasing and quoting?
Answer
Paraphrasing
- Completely rewriting information from a source in your own words.
- You must still use an in-text citation when paraphrasing to give credit to the original source.
Quoting
- Using information from a source without making any changes.
- When quoting, include quotation marks around the selected text to show it is a direct quote.
- Include an in-text citation.
